Boycott Goods List:

True, many of the companies listed business or their business operations in Muslim countries, so they give a job to the Muslim community and the Islamic economic help. But we should have learned from the events of the world of economic development, where the collapse of a business entity is often an opportunity for the other entity. We should take this situation as an opportunity to build their own economy, not as a cause of economic loss.

For example, Coca-Cola that has long dominated the market of Central Asia has been a decline in sales of up to 60% due to the boycott. This decline has been an opportunity for the Muslim-owned businesses alternative products from Iran, ZamZam Cola. ZamZam Cola could not be cope with the demand to meet the market vacancy Coca-Cola. In fact, they managed to sell sebayak 4milion cans in the first week, something never expected. Now? ZamZam Cola expand the business by opening factories in the Gulf countries, as well as providing employment opportunities to the community far more comprehensive. And for the first time a European country, Denmark, began importing ZamZam Cola.

Same scenario occurred in Egypt in 2001, where the closure of Sainsbury's has managed to increase locally owned businesses may not be able to survive with the market dominance of large companies from outside.

Do we in Malaysia, what is wrong with fried chicken we left McDonald's and try alternative products, such as Radix Fried Chicken or any Muslim Mamak restaurants nearby. No loss we leave Coca-Cola beverages to choose alternative local products cultivated by Muslims. What is wrong we move from a visit to the supermarket Tesco Supermarket Maidin?

What efforts would be successful?

Why not? Look to one of the worst affected due to the boycott - McDonald's.

McDonald's is a "major corporate partner" to the Jewish United Fund (JUF.) JUF calling themselves the "work to strengthen the American military, economic and diplomatic support for Israel; monitor and, if necessary, responds to media reports on Israel." Chairman and McDonald's CEO is Jack M Greeberg, who is also the Honorary Director of the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In October 2002, McDonald's shut down their operations in Central Asia because of loss due to the direct impact of the boycott effort. In Jordan, two of the six franchised McDonald's was forced to close because of no response. In Egypt, McDonald's had to change their brand to Manfoods as an attempt to mislead the consumer. Efforts to change the brand was not successful, and the Egyptian authorities had instructed controlling the entrance to the McDonald's as a result of community action throwing stones at the restaurant. A total of 175 restaurants may be closed, bringing the loss sebayak USD350juta.

If companies such as McDonald's may be impacted due to boycotts and pressure, of course, the companies are smaller, which supports Israel, will open their eyes and be careful with this boycott effort.

In the case of Amazon.com boycott, a business that sells books and related products through the internet has to stop their cooperation with the Jerusalem Post in November 2002. Jerusalem Post has contributed some of the profit is partnering with Amazon.com to Israeli soldiers returning from their work in the area of Palestine.

Some companies are saddened by what is being done by Israel against the Palestinian regime, decided to join boycott of Israel.

In May 2002, Texas Automotive Export, a company in the U.S. that export auto parts has decided to discontinue business with Israel.

Success and boycott response is alarming U.S. and Israel, that the U.S. threatened to impose fines against companies involved with this boycott. U.S. Commerce Department has imposed a fine of more than USD 26milion not issuing export licenses to the companies involved.
